Board Member Apprenticeship
Scarf is a charity/social enterprise delivering a range of services to householders, communities, and businesses throughout the Northeast of Scotland. For almost 40 years we have been offering free and impartial energy saving advice to help people lower their fuel bills and carbon emissions
We are very excited to be able to offer this opportunity for the right person for an initial one-year period to gain first-hand experience, through observation, of the workings and dynamics of our Board with a view to giving them the tools to become an effective Board Member in the future.
Our Board is focused on:

- Working closely with our customers, being responsive; innovative and ambitious whilst remaining accountable and providing value for money in everything we do

An apprentice board member, during their year of attending board meetings and observing how a charity operates will learn how to contribute to a positive board culture and work collaboratively with other board members and staff in addition would gain experience in several key areas including:
- Leadership and Teamwork
- Governance and Board Roles
- Strategic Planning
- Financial Management
- Legal and Ethical Standards
- Fundraising and Resource Development
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Meeting Dynamics and Decision-Making
- Risk Management
This opportunity is open to all ages (18+), all backgrounds and all abilities. The positions are unremunerated however travel and expenses will be reimbursed; training and development are also part of the offer.
